888 has partnered with Pennsylvania’s Mount Airy Casino in anticipation of online gaming being legalized in the Keystone State, according to a report from EGR North America.

888 is a technology partner with the World Series of Poker in Nevada and New Jersey and is the back-end software for Delaware’s three-site online poker industry. Nevada and Delaware recently begin sharing player pools for online poker.

888 is behind the “All-American Poker Network” (AAPN). Globally, 888poker is the second-largest poker site behind PokerStars, in terms of ring game traffic, according to PokerScout.

Mount Airy Casino Resort is located in eastern Pennsylvania, about 100 miles north of Philadelphia. It’s one of 12 casinos in Pennsylvania.

Caesars has a property in Pennsylvania, and the Mount Airy-888 deal reportedly is not exclusive. In other words, 888 could partner with others in Pennsylvania as well.

Mount Airy was the home to a hearing this week that touched on online gaming in Pennsylvania. Tuesday’s meeting followed a productive hearing on April 16 in Harrisburg, which was focused on one of three pro-online poker proposals in the state.

Pennsylvania could legalize online poker this year. If it doesn’t, the stage is being set for 2016 to be the year it happens. The odds are looking really good.

The House Committee hearing on April didn’t have a vote on the online poker bill.
