The World Series of Poker has announced the schedule for the 2015 WSOP Europe. For the first time ever the series will take place in Germany hot on the heels of the countries famous Oktoberfest celebration, with ten gold bracelets to be awarded from Oct. 8 – 24 at the Spielbank Berlin Casino. The marquee main event will begin on Oct. 18 and feature a €10,450 buy-in.
“Germany is truly a hotbed for poker talent,” said WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart. “As home country to our reigning Player of the Year and 2011 World Champion, we look forward to discovering new names ready to perform on poker’s biggest stage. Berlin became a logical choice city for WSOP Europe given its proximity to all of Europe, the experienced management team at Spielbank, and the gap of time since a major poker tournament has come to the city. We believe this truly will be the best organized and contested WSOP Europe ever.”
In addition to the main event, other notable bracelet events include a €2,200 kickoff six-handed no-limit hold’em event on Oct. 8, a €550 ‘Oktoberfest’ no-limit hold’em event starting Oct. 9, a €1,650 ‘monster stack’ event on Oct. 12 and a €25,600 high roller beginning Oct. 21.
The 2015 World Series of Poker Europe is expected to be covered by ESPN in the U.S. and its international markets as well as by Sport1 in Germany. Live web streaming of preliminary events will also be offered.
