There has been a lot of interest in Bwin.party lately, and now 888 Holdings, which is heavily involved with U.S. regulated online poker in Nevada, New Jersey and Delaware, is interested in buying the company.
According to the Guardian, 888’s interest in acquiring Bwin follows similar interest from Amaya Gaming Group, owner of both PokerStars and Full Tilt, and Playtech. The potential deal with Amaya reportedly is still alive.
888 confirmed its efforts to acquire Bwin. If the two combined, the new company would be valued at more than £1bn, according to the report.
Bwin was put on the market late last year. The company itself resulted from a merger with Bwin and PartyGaming in 2011. PartyPoker, as well as the WPT, are two of the firm’s assets.
Earlier this year, William Hill was interested in buying 888, but that deal fell through.
