A man who killed another man who allegedly was trying to rob a home poker game in Michigan won’t face charges for the incident. According to MLive.com, the shooting death of 25-year-old Ramon Vasquez was ruled a justifiable homicide.
Police said that on Mar. 11 Vasquez and another would-be robber entered the apartment hosting the game, when one of the players, who had a concealed weapons permit, took out his firearm and shot the suspect, who later died at the scene. Either Vasquez or the other suspect fired a shot upon entering the dwelling, according to police.
Two others have been charged in connection with the alleged attempted robbery.
According to law enforcement, the stakes in the game were low.
“It’s not a real high or real extreme dollar amount; the buy-in was minimal, not thousands,” Saginaw Township Police Chief Donald Pusseh reportedly said about the stakes. “It wasn’t nickle and dime, either, but it wasn’t exorbitant.”
