On Monday, poker pro Phil Hellmuth entered the final day of the $10,000 Razz Championship third in chips with just 12 players remaining.

The deep run is Hellmuth’s first cash of the summer and 109th life-time at the WSOP. He has 20 more cashes than Erik Seidel, who also happens to be alive in the Razz Championship. Seidel is gunning for his ninth career bracelet. The top prize is $271,105, but Hellmuth, and likely Seidel, care more about how the hardware than the prize money. All the remaining players are guaranteed $22,597.

Both Hellmuth and Seidel were trailing Adam Owen and Thomas Keller on the chip counts.

Razz is actually the poker variant in which Hellmuth won bracelet no. 12, which was his first non-hold’em WSOP win. Last year, he finished runner-up in a $1,500 razz event.

With a win, Hellmuth would move four ahead of Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan who each have 10 bracelets. Ivey hasn’t yet made his arrival at the 2015 WSOP. Last summer, Brunson indicated that he is likely done playing WSOP tournaments. Chan hasn’t cashed in a WSOP event since 2012.

Elite poker pros Mike Leah, Mike Gorodinsky, Stephen Chidwick, Shaun Deeb, Eric Wasserson, and Brandon Shack-Harris were also still in contention going into the final day, which begins at 2 p.m. local time in Las Vegas. Deeb won his first career bracelet on Saturday, and he could be this summer’s first double bracelet winner.

Last year, it took until event no. 38 for the 2014 WSOP to have its double bracelet winner (George Danzer). If Deeb wins on Monday or early Tuesday, whenever the event wraps up, it would be much earlier, coming in just event no. 17.
