Poker Central, an upcoming 24/7 poker TV network, announced this week that the Super High Roller Celebrity Shooout, scheduled to take place June 27-28 at Aria on the Las Vegas Strip, will feature some very familiar faces to the poker community.
Actors Hank Azaria, Don Cheadle, Brad Garrett, Norm Macdonald and Kevin Pollak have all signed up to play in the event. Poker legends Doyle Brunson, Antonio Esfandiari, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth and Vanessa Selbst are among their adversaries.
The Super High Roller Celebrity Shootout will air on NBC Sports Network for three Wednesdays in a row, beginning at 9:00 p.m. EST on July 29. The event is going to be intense, as it’s a $1 million winner-take-all format. The poker pros will compete against each other until one pro is left. The celebrities will do the same. The winner of the poker pros’ match will face off against the winner of the Hollywood celebrities in a best-of-three, heads-up showdown.
“These Hollywood celebrities are about to face off in the hardest game of their life, for more than they’ve ever played for before, against some of the world’s best players,” said Clint Stinchcomb, CEO of Poker Central. “This exciting, high pressure poker will be riveting to watch.”
Following the Super High Roller Celebrity Shootout is the Super High Roller Bowl $500,000 buy-in, which will run July 2-4 at Aria. The first-place prize is projected at $8.25 million. That event begins airing on TV on Aug. 28. The full schedule of TV times can be found here.
