Nevada Poker Rooms Collect $10.32 Million In May

Revenue Improves Year-Over-Year For First Time In 13 Months

Poker rooms across the state of Nevada took in $10.32 million in revenue during the month of May, which was a 0.62-percent increase compared to May 2014. Figures were released this week by Nevada gaming regulators.

It was the first month of 2015 that poker revenue increased compared to the same month last year.

There were 70 poker rooms with a combined 748 cash game tables during May.

May’s small uptick was actually the first year-over-year increase since April 2014’s 2.63-percent increase compared to April 2013. This May was also the best May for Nevada poker since 2012.

The 2015 World Series of Poker began during the last week of May. It runs until mid-July.

January: $9,782,000
February: $8,530,000
March: $9,690,000
April: $8,511,000
May: $10,320,000

Nevada began online poker in 2013, and revenue from the digital games are factored in.

Overall gaming revenue topped $1 billion in May, representing a 3.33-percent increase year-over-year. The increase was driven by an eight-percent uptick in slot machine revenue.
