Joseph McKeehen Leads 2015 World Series of Poker Main Event After Day 4

237 Remain In Hunt For The Championship Bracelet and The $7,680,021 Top Prize

From a field of 6,420 entries now only 237 remain in the 2015 World Series of Poker main event. One of them will be poker’s next world champion.

The chip leader at the end of day 4 is Joseph McKeehen. The poker pro from North Wales, PA bagged up 3,122,000. McKeehen is a two-time WSOP Circuit ring winner. He also finished inside the top 20 in the 2014 Card Player Player of the Year race, making 11 final tables throughout the year.

McKeehen just eked out the overnight lead ahead of Upeshka De Silva (3,067,000) who won a WSOP bracelet earlier this summer. Ending the day in fourth chip position was Brian Hastings (2,464,000), a three-time bracelet winner who won two WSOP events earlier this summer.

Daniel NegreanuOther big names still in the hunt include Daniel Fuhs (1,571,000), former November Niner Matt Jarvis (1,406,000), Justin Bonomo (1,350,000), all-time live tournament earnings leader Daniel Negreanu (1,335,000), Kelly Minkin (1,289,000) and a short-stacked Antonio Esfandiari (195,000).

Day 4 began with 661 players, which means that plenty of people hit the rail throughout the day including former November niner JC tran (434th place), all-time bracelet leader and 1989 main event champion Phil Hellmuth (417th place), Phil Laak (412th place), 2005 main event winner Joe Hachem (298th place) and George Danzer (280th place).

The remaining 237 players are all guaranteed at least a $34,157 payday, but all surely have their eyes on the championship bracelet and the $7,680,021 first-place prize. Play resumes tomorrow at noon local time.
