On Saturday, Aug. 15, the WSOP will close the public voting period for the 2015 Poker Hall of Fame class. Ten finalists will be the result of the first round process.

Living Poker Hall of Fame members and a blue ribbon media panel will then cast votes on the final list of nominees to determine the class of 2015. The enshrinement ceremony will take place in November as part of the main event final table festivities.

Last year, Daniel Negreanu and Jack McClelland beat out finalists Chris Bjorin, Humberto Brenes, Bruno Fitoussi, Ted Forrest, Jennifer Harman, Bob Hooks, Mike Matusow and Huckleberry Seed.

In 2013, Tom McEvoy and Scotty Nguyen were inducted over Brenes, Bjorin, David Chiu, Thor Hansen, Matusow, Harman, Carlos Mortensen and Seed.

Harman, 50, was also a finalist in 2012, 2011 and 2010, so it may finally be her time. Harman is a cash game legend who has nearly $2.5 million in tournament earnings. She has two career bracelets and two WPT final tables on her resume.

Friends and family of the late Dave “Devilfish” Ulliot have been campaigning online for the bracelet winner to be inducted this year. Ulliot had more than $5 million in lifetime tournament scores. Three-time bracelet winner Paul “Eskimo” Clark also passed away earlier this year and currently isn’t in the Poker Hall of Fame, which was created in 1979.

One must be at least 40 years old to be inducted. Negreanu, poker’s all-time leading tournament money earner, became eligible last year after turning 40. Poker pro Phil Ivey turns 40 in February, so he’ll have to wait until next year.

The other “main criteria” for the Poker Hall of Fame are that the player must have “played poker against acknowledged top competition” and “for high stakes,” while playing “consistently well” and “gaining the respect of peers.” The player must have lasted in the poker world too, as another standard is that they “stood the test of time.” For those who didn’t more or less play full-time, they must have “contributed to the overall growth and success of the game of poker, with indelible positive and lasting results.”

There are currently 48 members of the Poker Hall of Fame.
