Two Florida natives headline the Card Player Poker Tour bestbet Jacksonville $1,500 no-limit hold’em $300,000 guarantee final table. TK Miles and Darryll Fish are easily the most experienced players of the final nine and are ready to take home a title on their home turf.
Miles, who has finished 16th or better in this event three years in a row, leads the way with 1,844,000. Miles chopped heads-up with Harvey Vandeven in 2013 for $76,598 and finished 16th in 2014 for $3,150. Miles is now guaranteed at least $10,972.
Miles is only the third player in the tour’s three-year history to cash in three consecutive main events at the same card room. Dustin Fox has finished in the money three years in a row at CPPT Atlantis in Reno, Nevada and Gary Luther has done the same at CPPT Choctaw in Durant, Oklahoma.
Fish bagged an impressive 707,000, given he spend most of the tournament short-stacked.
“I’ve grinded a short stack harder than I ever have,” Fish said of being short for most of day 1 and day 2.
Fish has nearly $2,000,000 in live tournament earnings and seven live titles, his most recent a World Series of Poker Circuit win at Palm Beach Kennel Club in West Palm Beach, Florida for $173,189.
The winner will take home $109,733, the second largest first place prize payout of the season this far. The runner-up with leave with more than $76,000.
