Here's Some Daily Fantasy Sports Tips From An Expert

These FantasyDraft tournaments are so much fun to play in. At other sites, it feels like you have to strike gold just to get in the money of any tournament you play. Over at FantasyDraft, putting together a solid lineup has been rewarded time and again over the first month of the NFL season as they pay out a consistently high percentage of entries and have had massive overlays.

This week, I’ll be looking at some players that have high upside and our likely to come with low ownership to boot, giving you a chance to take down the big score in the $250,000 Run & Gun tournament or the $100,000 Shotgun event.

QB

Eli Manning ($13,100) – Eli, and a teammate to be named later in this piece, while playing solid over the first four weeks, have yet to have that signature game this season. Well, Sunday Night Football is putting that opportunity on a silver platter for them. They’ll face a 49ers squad traveling to the east coast and bringing with it one of the worst pass rushes and one of the worst pass coverage units in football, according to Pro Football Focus grades. Throw in a miserable last few weeks after a surprising week one demolition of the Vikings on Monday Night Football, and this 49ers team looks primed to roll over on Sunday night and allow some fantasy fireworks.

RB

Chris Thompson ($6,500) – This one is not for the faint of heart. Thompson is a gameflow dependent player, meaning that he will not be very involved if Washington is able to keep this game competitive, as he is primarily the passing down back for the Redskins. However, the Redskins are in a tough spot this week going into the Georgia Dome against a Falcons team that’s riding high and coming off a blowout of the Texans. Thompson has actually led the team in running back stats over the last two weeks and been handily the most impressive back in this three-headed attack. If the game goes as the sportsbooks say it might, Thompson could be in for another nice game.

WR

Odell Beckham Jr. ($17,200) – If you played fantasy football last year or even just watched Sportscenter occasionally, you know the upside is there. What won’t be there, however, is a high ownership percentage. Beckham has struggled in two of his four games this year, including a week 4 line of 5-38 against the Bills. With DFS players being consumed by recency bias, Beckham is a near certainty to be a lightly owned player this week who could realistically score 40 PPR points if the game breaks his way. If the goal is to win a DFS tournament, Beckham is the blueprint play this week for how to approach things.

TE

Travis Kelce ($10,600) – Coming off one of the ‘downs’ in his up and down season so far, Kelce is a good bet to fly under the radar a bit as DFS players gravitate toward Rob Gronkowski coming off his bye or cheaper options who lit up the scoreboard last week. Well, Kelce is still second only to Gronkowski at the tight end position right now when it comes to the ability to completely dominate a football game. It can be frustrating to watch the Chiefs not feature him over and over again given his immense skills and efficiency. All we can hope for as DFS players who choose to use him in a DFS tournament is that this is the week that the Chiefs realize they have their own number 87 that is unstoppable.
