The ninth stop of Season III of the Card Player Poker Tour kicked off at Hollywood Park Casino in Southern California Oct. 16. The series will continue until Oct. 25 and feature a $500 no-limit hold’em $150,000 guarantee main event Oct. 22-25.

Ninety-four players have already won their seats into the main event through satellites and each preliminary tournament will award main event vouchers to the first and second place finishers or the first through fourth place finishers, depending on the tournament.

The main event will consist of three starting days with 30-minute levels beginning at 12pm. Day 2 will begin at 2pm and feature 40-minute levels until the final table is reached. The final table will play out on the same day, however levels will increase to 60 minutes. Players will begin with 30,000 in tournament chips and can re-enter or register until the beginning of level 9. Each day one will end when only 10 percent of the field remains, meaning all day 2 players will be in the money. Levels on day 2 will begin at the earliest ending level of the day ones. Players may also qualify up to three times and combine their chips.
