Another Pennsylvania I-Poker Hearing PostponedBudget Talks Still Ongoing As Online Gaming Remains On Table |

A hearing in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to consider a plan to regulate online casino games was postponed, according to the House Gaming Oversight Committee’s website.
It was the second hearing on the topic in less a week to be postponed indefinitely. Tuesday’s joint hearing was on “exploring the potential of online lottery/gaming in Pennsylvania.”
Rep. John Payne, chair of the Gaming Oversight Committee and author of an online gaming bill, told Card Player last week that lawmakers have pushed back the public meetings as the state government continues to work on its months-long budget impasse and as lawmakers work through the complexities of a gambling reform package.
Online gaming in the Keystone State will likely be legalized in an omnibus bill that is designed to raise much-needed tax revenue in Pennsylvania. Along with online casino games, online lottery sales, slots at airports and regulated daily fantasy sports betting could be authorized.
There are still more than two months left in 2015 and a budget deal must eventually be reached, so anything can happen. Pennsylvania would be the fourth state in the country with regulated web poker, joining Nevada, Delaware and New Jersey.
