Revenue from Nevada’s live and online poker tables was $8,730,000 in October. The amount was a 0.15 percent decline compared to October 2014, according to the figures released Monday by Silver State gaming regulators.
There were 71 poker rooms with a combined 663 tables this October.
The Las Vegas Strip area had 310 of those tables and $5,361,000 of the overall poker revenue in October. Poker revenue for Strip area casinos was up 0.78 percent in the month.
Over the past 12 months, Nevada poker revenue was $118,260,000, down 2.28 percent compared to the same period a year ago.
Through the first 10 months of 2015, poker revenue has increased year-over-year in four of the months, while dropping in six. Statewide poker revenue in Nevada for calendar year 2014 was $119,904,000, down from $123,891,000 in 2013.
Overall gaming revenue for October was $887,578,000, down 2.85 percent year-over-year. Baccarat play was largely to blame, as revenue from the game fell 21.77 percent year-over-year to just under $80 million. Baccarat and blackjack are the two most lucrative games for Nevada’s casino industry. Slot machines make up the bulk of gaming revenue.
