DraftKings: Week 15 NFL DFS PicksHere's Some Daily Fantasy Sports Tips From An Expert |
|
Constructing winning DFS lineups is all about finding the value and maximizing your lineups around that value. One concept I like to think about a lot is making sure I’m not ‘forcing’ the value. If you end up wanting to use a player because he fits your lineup but otherwise doesn’t seem like a very good play on merit, that’s a good sign that you should explore other options.
With that in mind, I’m going to look at one player at each position who I believe is valuable on DraftKings this weekend. Remember, value doesn’t necessarily mean that they have a cheap price tag. An expensive player can be very valuable because of how lineup construction works and because his situation is so favorable that you really want to have him.

QB
Carson Palmer ($7,000) – You can’t draw it up much better than this for Carson Palmer this weekend. Philadelphia plays at the league’s fastest pace and this game projects as a close and high scoring affair, with the Cardinals favored by 3.5 and the projected total up over 50 points. The Eagles also sport a leaky pass defense that has allowed 14 passing touchdowns in the last four weeks. To top it all off, Carson Palmer is leading the league in yards per attempt and is second in touchdown passes with 31 to Tom Brady’s 33, albeit on 83 fewer pass attempts. This week is a slam-dunk at quarterback.
RB
Denard Robinson ($4,600) and Charcandrick West ($4,800) – I thought I’d highlight two running backs this week because each is dependent on the questionable health of his backfield mate. Denard would get the nod in my order of preference if both T.J. Yeldon (Jags) and Spencer Ware (Chiefs) were to sit out this weekend. However, if both players do sit this weekend out, there’s a very good chance I’ll be using both of these running backs. If Yeldon or Ware can’t go, either Robinson or West will be solid DFS plays.
WR
Calvin Johnson ($6,900) – Megatron has had a very un-Megatron-like season thus far. Everyone can agree on that. Which makes it all the more crazy when you step back and realize he has 71 catches, 981 yards and 7 touchdowns through 13 games. He’s also faced one of the toughest possible schedules for a number one wide receiver this season. Now this week, he draws the Saints awful pass defense in a dome in the game with the week’s highest projected total. He’s also priced at his lowest point of the season on DraftKings. Calvin is a very strong play on DraftKings this week.
TE
Antonio Gates ($4,600) – Rounding out my 2009 Pro Bowl team of suggestions this week is Antonio Gates. Tight end is such a difficult position in DFS. Gates offers a solid amount of stability for a relatively inexpensive price tag this week on DraftKings. We all know Gates has been Philip Rivers favorite target throughout each of their long careers together. Now the Chargers are completely decimated with injuries and Gates is one of the last men standing. He should see ample targets and red zone work this weekend.
