Australian casino tycoon James Packer allegedly got into a physical altercation with a worker at his casino in Melbourne after the security guard apparently didn’t recognize who he was.

According to a report from The Guardian, the security guard didn’t let Packer and another executive into an unspecified part of the casino on New Year’s Day, which prompted Packer to scream and push him aside, the worker alleged.

The casino characterized the incident a bit differently.

“A contract security officer, working inside the resort was radioed that one of Crown’s most important VIPs was approaching his position, but failed to recognise Mr. Packer, moving in front of him to attempt to physically block him from entering the casino and causing a collision,” a spokeswoman said in a statement. “It’s understood that a verbal altercation ensued and Mr. Packer continued into the facility.”

The worker, 60-year-old Iskandar Chaban, said he went to the hospital after the incident.
