A proposal to legalize and regulate online poker rooms was re-introduced last week in the state of Washington’s legislature.

House Bill 1114 was put on the table by Representatives Sherry Appleton and Vincent Buys. Washington, which previously criminalized online poker, likely won’t be approving the measure this year but it does keep the conversation going.

The online poker bill was up for consideration last year, but it didn’t go anywhere. The bill was actually deemed dead by mid-February and never received a hearing.

The state has considered repealing the law criminalizing online poker, but those efforts also haven’t gone anywhere yet. You can still go to prison for simply playing online poker in the state of Washington, though no one ever has.
