Report: Nevada Sports Books Didn't Win Big On Super BowlSmall Profit Expected In The Silver State |

Nevada sports books are expected to turn a profit on Sunday’s Super Bowl, but it likely won’t be breaking a record, according to a report from the Las Vegas Sun.
Super Bowl 50, which saw the 5.5-point underdog win 24-10, could yield a record for the amount wagered, however. Super Bowl 48 has the record of $119.4 million in bets, of which the sports books won $19.6 million. The amount won was also an all-time high.
According to anecdotes from the sports books, betting volume this year appeared to be like nothing ever before seen in the Silver State, but the game outcome wasn’t the best that could have been hoped for. Bettors were favoring Denver in the hours leading up to the game.
Prop bets didn’t work out well for the sports books, the report said. A late two-point conversion by the Broncos apparently took a big chunk out of the industry’s winnings.
Nevada casinos have only lost on the game once in the past 10 years, and, according to the Las Vegas Sun, just twice in the past 27 years. Official numbers will soon be released by Silver State gaming regulators. Below is a look at previous Super Bowl performances.
