Canadian poker pro Kara Scott said this week that she is the newest sponsored player for online poker site 888, which has a presence in all three U.S. states with regulated real-money online poker.
Scott, who has more than $550,000 in lifetime tournament earnings, ended a four-year business relationship with PartyPoker in 2014. She served as the brand ambassador for that site.
“I’m a big believer in just how much fun poker can be,” Scott said in a statement this week, "and adore being involved with the recreational side of the game, as well as the more serious side. Joining the 888poker team is a fantastic milestone for my career and I feel honoured to be representing such a key player in the poker industry.”
She added: “I’m also really excited to be a part of their impressive team of ambassadors! I am looking forward to a bright and successful future with 888poker.”
Scott has done on-camera work with the likes of GSN’s High Stakes Poker, the World Series of Poker broadcasts on ESPN and PokerStars’ European Poker Tour.
“All of us here at 888poker are thrilled that Kara has joined our team,” said Itai Pazner, Senior VP & Head of B2C at 888 Holdings. “Her achievements and outlook on the game and the industry are exactly what 888poker stands for and we look forward to having her on board.”
