The state of Oklahoma and a Native American tribe are close to finalizing an agreement that would allow the tribe to launch a real-money online poker site that would be available to Americans where it’s not illegal.

According to a report from kgou.org, the state and the Iowa Tribe were asked by U.S. District Court Judge David Russell to prepare and submit an agreed order by April 15. The judge could make a decision at that time or request more info.

The tribe announced back in January that it was planning on running games on PokerTribe.com. The announcement came weeks after an arbitrator’s ruling said the poker site wouldn’t violate its gaming compact with Oklahoma.

The U.S. District Court Judge in Oklahoma City was asked to certify the ruling.

Under the compact, the tribe will pay a portion of revenue to the state. The tribe plans to eventually roll out other casino games. Florida software company Universal Entertainment Group will be providing the back-end technology for pokertribe.com.

The tribe currently has two brick-and-mortar casinos located within Oklahoma.
