Nevada Poker Rooms Rake $9.7M In March

Revenue Nearly Unchanged Compared To A Year Ago

Nevada’s 71 poker rooms collectively raked just under $9.7 million during the month of March, according to the state Gaming Control Board.

That was 0.01 percent less than March 2015.

There were 655 tables statewide during this past March, according to the state. That was 11 fewer than March 2015.

The Las Vegas Strip area had 21 of the poker rooms and 305 of the tables this March. Those rooms collectively raked $6.17 million. The Strip poker revenue was up 0.8 percent year-over-year.

The March performance follows February’s roughly 5.5-percent gain compared to February 2015. Poker revenue fell 2.85 percent in January.

Silver State card rooms raked a little over $118 million in 2015, which was a 1.57-percent decline compared to 2014’s $119.9 million. Poker revenue was $123.9 million in 2013. The all-time high for Nevada poker was just under $168 million in 2007. Since that year, revenue has fallen year-over-year in all but one year. Calendar year 2013 had a 0.56-percent uptick compared to 2012.
