Resorts World Las Vegas, a $4 billion casino coming to the north end of the Strip, received an unanimous blessing from the Nevada Gaming Commission this week.
According to Vegas Inc, the regulators gave the OK to a series of applications from casino developer Genting Group. The NGC found various executives and corporate entities suitable for doing business in the Silver State.
The casino will open sometime in early 2019, Genting told the Nevada Gaming Control Board earlier this month when that panel gave preliminary approval to the applications.
Ground was officially broken on the project roughly a year ago. Construction is expected to start later this year. The site for Resorts World is Boyd Gaming’s unfinished Echelon development, a casino project that was abandoned thanks to the 2008 recession.
Though Nevada gaming win as a percentage of total casino industry revenue is at an all-time low, Genting is planning a 150,000-square-foot gaming floor for the property.
