The eventual champion will earn the $1,296,097 first-place prize and the honor of having their name added to the David ‘Chip’ Reese Memorial Trophy. The top 14 finishers will make the money, with a min-cash being worth $75,833.
Only three players hit the rail during the first day of play in Stephen Chidwick, Abe Mosseri and Keith Gipson. Scott Seiver is the chip leader heading into day 2 with 593,000. Other notables to make it through day 1 with huge stacks included Michael Mizrachi (433,000), Anthony Zinno (418,000), Jason Mercier (384,800), Paul Volpe (338,000) and Daniel Negreanu (337,900).
