Nevada Poker Revenue In June Best Since 2009Casinos Rake $16,137,000 During The Month |

Nevada’s poker rooms raked $16,137,000 during June, according to figures released this week by Silver State gaming regulators.
That amount came from 65 poker rooms and 763 live tables statewide.
The rake was an increase of 1.88 percent year-over-year, compared to the $15,840,000 in rake from June 2015. The annual World Series of Poker runs during the entire month of June, which makes it the biggest month for cash games in Nevada poker rooms.
The $16,137,000 was the most in the month of June since 2009, when June had $16,222,000 in rake. The all-time best June was in 2007, when revenue was $17,661,000.
The Las Vegas Strip area had $12,931,000 of the revenue this June, up just under three percent year-over-year. The area had 21 poker rooms and 423 tables. June’s Strip rake was more than double the rake in May. In 2016, for the first time in years, the WSOP didn’t begin in May.
Nevada’s poker revenue includes online play, but the state doesn’t separate the totals and release it to the public because there aren’t enough operators.
According to PokerScout, the average for Nevada online poker cash game traffic (which includes liquidity sharing with Delaware) during the peak time of the WSOP was more than 200 players.
Here’s a look at Nevada’s poker revenue so far in 2016:
January: $9.5 million (2.85-percent decrease)
February: $8.98 million (5.44-percent increase)
March: $9.68 million (0.01-percent decrease)
April: $8.57 million (0.86-percent increase)
May: $8.88 million (13.92-percent decrease)
June: $16.14 million (1.88-percent increase)
The poker rooms raked a little over $118 million in 2015, which was a 1.57-percent decline compared to 2014’s $119.9 million. Poker revenue was $123.9 million in 2013.
The all-time high for Nevada poker was just under $168 million in 2007.
