Maryland Poker Rooms Rake $2.7M In SeptemberRevenue Virtually Unchanged Year-Over-Year |

The state of Maryland’s brick-and-mortar poker rooms had revenue of $2.7 million in September, according to figures released this week by gaming regulators. That was basically unchanged from September 2015.
Through the first nine months of this year, the poker rooms raked $26.1 million, down from the $26.9 million won from January to September of 2015.
Slot revenue in September 2016 was $61.7 million, while table game revenue was $35.4 million. The $97.1 million in total gaming win for the month was up nearly $10 million, or 11 percent, from the same month a year ago, the state said.
Maryland Live! had $53.9 million of the nearly $100 million in statewide gaming win, which was good for an 8.8-percent gain year-on-year for the casino.
The state’s five casinos set a revenue record of $104.4 million in May.
Hollywood Casino Perryville raked $84,000 from poker during September, compared to $2.04 million at Maryland Live! and $618,000 from Horseshoe Casino Baltimore.
Horseshoe Baltimore and Maryland Live! have 25 and 52 poker tables, respectively. Hollywood’s poker room has just eight tables.
March’s $3.24 million in rake is the high point of 2016 so far.
On Dec. 8, a $1.4 billion casino from MGM Resorts will open at National Harbor. The casino will have more than 125,000 square feet of gaming floor space, which includes a poker room, table games and more than 3,300 slots.
