The upcoming poker movie “Molly’s Game” could soon have Oscar-winner Kevin Costner join its cast. The actor is in talks to play Molly Bloom’s father in the biopic, according to a report from Empire.

Jessica Chastain is set to play Bloom, a high-stakes poker organizer who was once charged by the federal government. Idris Elba will play her attorney in what could be an all-star cast.

Sorkin is set to make his directorial debut with the film. He also wrote the script.

According to the report, Costner jumping on board is not a sure bet at this point. The filming is set to begin next month. There’s no release date yet.

Last month, there were reports that Michael Cera is also considering a role in the movie. He could end up playing a poker player.

Whatever ends up happening with Costner and Cera, Sorkin’s confidence going into production is unlikely to be affected.

“The casting of Jessica and Idris in the two lead roles is any film-maker’s dream come true,” Sorkin said in a statement earlier this year. “They’re two of the greatest actors of their generation, paired for the first time, and their chemistry will be electric.”
