New Jersey Poker Rooms Rake $4.5M In OctoberMarket Grows Year-Over-Year Thanks To Internet Games |

The state of New Jersey’s poker market was $4.5 million during October, according to figures from the State Division of Gaming Enforcement. The amount was a nearly nine-percent increase year-over-year.
Live poker rake was $2.1 million, while online poker revenue was $2.4 million. In October 2015, live poker rake was $2.23 million and online poker contributed $1.9 million, reflecting a combined poker market of $4.13 million.
In the most recent October, Borgata led the way in the live setting with $1.28 million in rake, followed by Bally’s ($254,000), Harrah’s ($252,000), Tropicana ($222,000) and Golden Nugget ($73,000).
The Trump Taj Mahal, which closed on Oct. 10, had five tables open in October, but it didn’t report any revenue. It reopened its poker room earlier this year.
On the online side of things, Resorts Digital was tops in poker with $1 million in revenue, followed by Borgata ($734,000) and Caesars Interactive ($642,000).
While New Jersey’s poker market grew in October, it was behind the $4.75 million raked in neighboring Pennsylvania’s brick-and-mortar poker rooms.
The Keystone State is considering online casinos as well.
Total gaming win in October for the Atlantic City casino industry was $203 million compared to $204.5 million in October 2015, reflecting a nearly one-percent decrease.
Despite the financial troubles of the local government, the Atlantic City casino industry reported total gaming win of $2.2 billion through the first 10 months of 2016, up 1.4 percent compared to the amount won in the same period last year.
