The second starting day of the 2017 Card Player Poker Tour bestbet Jacksonville main event wrapped up late Saturday. This year the $1,100 tournament drew 378 entries to create a $366,660 prize pool, blowing away the $200,000 guarantee.

It also beat out last year’s $280,330 prize pool from 289 entrants.

The top 48 finishers will make the money, with the eventual champion set to walk away with $75,714. A min-cash will be worth $1,764. Making the final table will guarantee you $7,571.

There were 81 total players remaining at the end of day 1b (28 from day 1a and 53 from day 1b). Each starting day played 14 levels. Registration closed at the end of the dinner break on day 1b.

All the remaining players will begin action on day 2 on Sunday at noon local time.

GerlinPlayers began the event with 25,000 in chips and the blinds began at 50-100. When play concluded at the end of level 14, the stakes were 1,200-2,400 with a 400-chip ante. Level 15, which the players will begin on day 2, is 1,500-3,000 with a 500-chip ante.

This is the fifth year in a row that the CPPT has traveled to Jacksonville. Poker pro David Jackson, who has nearly $1 million in lifetime tournament earnings, finished day 1a with the big stack in the room (326,000). The day 1b chip leader was Jermaine “Lion” Gerlin with 335,000.

The chip leaders both receive a $1,500 bonus, deducted from the prize pool.
