Maryland Poker Rooms Rake $3.75M In AprilRevenue Up 23.8 Percent Year-Over-Year |

Maryland’s brick-and-mortar poker rooms had revenue of $3.75 million last month, according to figures from state gaming regulators. Through the first four months of 2017, the casinos took in $15.24 million from poker.
Hollywood Casino Perryville had $93,000 of the revenue last month; Maryland Live had $1.41 million; Horseshoe Baltimore had $514,000; and MGM National Harbor took in $1.73 million.
MGM has raked more than Maryland Live in every month so far this year. The casinos are about 30 miles apart. Two of the state’s six casinos don’t have poker.
The state’s poker rooms raked $3.03 million in April 2016. Poker revenue increased 23.8 percent year-over-year. MGM opened its casino in December of last year.
MGM told Card Player that its poker room caters to an “under-served population in Southern D.C. and Northern Virginia, and in the more expansive area down to North Carolina.”
Through the first four months of 2016, the rooms had rake of $12.02 million.
The casinos won $135.7 million from gamblers overall last month, an increase of 30.6 percent compared to the $103.89 million from April 2016.
A record $141.2 million was won in March.
Poker represented 2.7 percent of gaming revenue last month. In Nevada, poker revenue is about one percent of overall gaming win.
