Chris Moorman, one of the most prolific online poker players ever, and a World Poker Tour champion, crossed his name off the best-without-a-bracelet list Friday night when he took down the $3,000 six-max no-limit hold’em event.

The 31-year-old, who splits his time between his native England and the States, pocketed $498,682 along with the gold. Moorman had narrowly missed out on a WSOP win twice before, finishing second in the 2011 $10,000 six-max no-limit hold’em event for $716,282 and following that up with a runner-up performance in the WSOP Europe main event for $1,068,690.

He now has more than $5.1 million in career live tournament earnings, along with another $14 million won online.

“It’s kind of surreal.” Moorman told WSOP reporters. “Any time you win live, it’s like it’s a lot more ‘real.’ Particularly since a lot of my online success was when I was living in the U.K., and I would be playing all through the night, and maybe win a tournament about 5 or 6 in the morning. I would just be there on my own, maybe talking with friends on Skype online, but the money goes into your account. You don’t see the money in front of you, you don’t have anyone celebrating. I don’t know – it’s just a great feeling when you win [live].”

Moorman had to overcome a tough final table that included the likes of Max Silver (6th), Steve Sung (4th), and Michael Gagliano (3rd). Other notables with a deep run included Pratyush Buddiga (11th), Samantha Cohen (17th), Tim West (34th), Mark Radoja (35th), David Sands (42nd), Kyle Cartwright (47th), Joey Weissman (51st), and Vanessa Selbst (56th).

Here’s a look at the final table results.
