Barry Seidman emerged victorious from a field of 910 total entries to win the July running of 2017 Card Player Poker Tour Ocean’s 11 San Diego Clasic $250 buy-in no-limit hold’em event. For the win Seidman earned a $38,873 payday, the largest cash on his poker resume. Seidman finished 70th in this same event back in April.
This was the second largest CPPT event held at Ocean’s 11 Casino in terms of field size. The tournament featured six starting flights, which drew 846 entries, as well as a Quantum Reload day 2 direct buy-in option that saw 64 players put up $1,500 to enter the final day of the event with an average stack of 120,000. As a result of the fantastic turnout, the event built a total prize pool of $246,400 to blow away the $150,000 prize pool estimate.
While Seidman was the last player standing, a number of notable players also made deep runs in this event. Card Player columnist and poker triple crown winner Gavin Griffin finished 11th for $3,480. Incredibly, he finished in the exact same spot in the April running of this event, earning $3,360 back in the spring. Seventh-place finisher Danny Illingworth added $6,875 to his lifetime live earnings of over $550,000. The So Cal native also cashed in this event in April, finishing 108th.
