The first day of the 2018 Card Player Poker Tour Live! Casino & Hotel $1,100 no-limit hold’em main event is now in the books! The tournament features a $200,000 guarantee, and with 115 total entries after the first starting day, the event is on pace to surpass the promised prize pool.
Friday, Jan. 12 saw the first of two starting days in this CPPT main event kick off at 12:15 PM ET. The second and final starting day will begin at the same time on Saturday, Jan. 13.
For players still interested in winning their way into this exciting event, the Live! Poker Room will be offering two turbo satellites, starting at 9:15 AM and 11:15 AM.
From the 115 entries made on day 1A only 29 players made it through to day 2, with Ben Foster bagging up the chip lead with 334,200. Other top stacks include James Cornblatt (317,300) and Jeffery Chang (294,400).
Aaron Pinson sits in the middle of the pack with 109,700. Pinson took down a title earlier on in this CPPT series, winning the $240 Omaha eight-or-better/seven card stud eight-or-better split event for $2,348. Pinson has captured three live tournament titles, all of which he won right here at the Live! Casino & Hotel. The Baltimore, MD resident now has more than $159,000 in lifetime live tournament earnings.
The 29 who made it through the day will combine with the survivors of day 1B when play resumes at 12:15 PM on Sunday, Jan. 14. Play is set to continue until a champion is decided that evening.

This main event is part of the first ever CPPT series held at the Live! Casino & Hotel, which was voted Maryland’s Best Casino five years running by Casino Player Magazine.
