The 2019 Card Player Poker Tour Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland series is officially in the books. We previously posted recaps of the winners from events 1-6 and events 7-11. This article will cover all of the winners from the second half of the series, including the results from events 12-25.
CPPT Event #12 – $550 No-Limit Hold’em Freezout
A total of 18 entries were made in event 12, the $550 buy-in no-limit hold’em Freezeout event, building a prize pool of $9,000 that was ultimately paid out to the top three finishers.
Nathan Wasson emerged victorious with the title and the top prize of $4,500. He defeated Ijamsville, MD’s William Belcher heads-up for the title. Belcher took home $2,700 as the runner-up, while William Zgorski earned $1,800 for third place.

CPPT Event #13 – $150 No-Limit Hold’em Double Green Chip Bounty $10K GTD
The next tournament on the schedule was the $10,00 guaranteed $150 buy-in ‘Green Chip Bounty’ no-limit hold’em event. By the time registration closed a total of 75 entries had been made, putting $6,250 into the tournament prize pool.
Brian Kurth was the last bounty hunter standing, defeating Richard Mourhaed head-up to secure the title and $1,500 from the prize pool.

CPPT Event #14 – $300 O.E.
The $300 buy-in O.E. (Omaha eight-or-better and seven-card stud eight-or-better) event saw 21 players turn out to Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland for some split-pot poker action. By the end of the night, David Green was the only player standing. Green earned $2,260 after striking a heads-up deal with Pierce-Christian Arnold ($2,259).

CPPT Event #15 – $200,000 GTD $1,100 Main Event
The $200,000 guaranteed Card Player Poker Tour $1,100 buy-in no-limit hold’em main even saw a total of 192 entries made over the course of two starting flights and late registration up to the start of day 2.
Joe Cashen ultimately came out on top, earning $50,680 as the second CPPT main event winner ever crowned in Maryland. The 60-year-old commercial contractor defeated Richie Smith heads-up to secure his largest career cash.

CPPT Event #16 – $120 No-Limit Hold’em ‘Triple Stacks Matinee’ $20K GTD
The $120 buy-in no-limit hold’em ‘Triple Stacks Matinee’ event featured a $20,000 guarantee, which helped to attract a field of 216 total entries. In the end the event surpassed the guarantee, creating a final prize pool of $21,600.
Millersville, MD resident Michael Zenone was crowned the champion, taking home $2,479 for the win. Tremayne Jernigan earned $2,322 as the second-place finisher.

CPPT Event #17 – $300 No-Limit Hold’em Black Chip Bounty Turbo $10K GTD
The $10,000 guaranteed $300 buy-in ‘Black Chip Bounty Turbo- no-limit hold’em event drew 28 entries, with Taneytown, MD resident Joseph Malebranche securing the final bounty, the title and the top prize of $2,044.
This was Malebranche’s second title and third final-table finish of the series, having previously won the $100 bounty event and finished third in a $360 buy-in event.

CPPT Event #18 – $200 Pot-Limit Omaha 8/OB
The $200 buy-in pot-limit Omaha eight-or-better event saw 46 entries made, building a prize pool of $8,004 that was ultimately awarded to the top six finishers.
Sergio Torrez secured the final scoop, taking home the title and the top prize of $1,963. This was the second recorded live tournament title for the resident of Stephens City, VA.

CPPT Event #19 – $300 No-Limit Hold’em Survivor
The $300 buy-in no-limit hold’em survivor event drew 24 entries to create a $6,480. In the end it was David Lazarus who earned the top payout of $1,592.
Timothy Little took home $732 as the fourth-place finisher. It was Little’s fourth cash of the series, including a win in the $300 seniors event. Sonny Lee earned $1,000 for his second final-table finish of the series. Lee finished in third place.

The final bounty event of the series saw 42 players post the $300 buy-in. When the dust settled, Christopher Jones was the last player left. Jones cashed for $3,276 as the champion of this tournament, securing his fourth career live tournament title in the process.

David Yoon came out on top in the $200 buy-in no-limit hold’em eight-max event. Yoon earned $2,782 as the winner after defeating Sonny Lee heads-up for the title. Lee was at his third final-table of the series.

CPPT Event #22 – $250 No-Limit Hold’em Tag Team Switch
This unique event saw teams of two players post a buy-in of $250 and play co-operatively, with the ability to tag in and out of action. The event drew a total of 28 participants, but the last team standing was Minho Choe and Richie Smith, who had finished runner-up in the CPPT main event just a day earlier.
The top team saw each player take home $1,398 for the win.

CPPT Event #23 – $250 No-Limit Hold’em Freezout
Event #23 saw 27 players post a $250 buy-in for a good, old-fashioned no-limit hold’em freezeout tournament. The $5,940 prize pool was paid out amongst the top five finishers, with the lion’s share going to eventual champion Joseph Cutler.
This was the first live tournament title for the Bay Shore, NY resident’s first live tournament title. He took home $2,100 for the win.

Mungunshagai Baterdene emerged victorious with the title and the top prize of $3,046. Bryan Butkus cashed for $2,245 as the second-place finisher.
