The kickoff event of the 2021 Card Player Poker Tour bestbet Jacksonville series drew a total of 525 entries, creating a prize pool of $257,250 that was paid out among the top 67 finishers. In the end, the largest share of that money was awarded to local Jacksonville poker pro Eddy Mroczkowski, who earned $41,248 after striking a heads-up deal with fellow local James Brown to secure the title.
This was the largest live tournament score of Mroczkowski’s career, surpassing the $35,224 he earned as the runner-up finisher in a 2019 World Poker Tour bestbet Bounty Scramble preliminary event. The victory increased his career earnings to $444,658.
Mroczkowski has now made nine final tables during CPPT series, all coming at bestbet Jacksonville. He also finished seventh in the first-ever CPPT bestbet Jacksonville main event held in 2013, earning $11,705 for his deep run.
This event featured a $560 buy-in, with 525 entries made across three starting flights. Day 1A drew 92, while Day 1B added another 160. The third flight was the largest, with 273 entries made for day 1C. Lukina Yekaterina bagged up the largest stack of any of the 67 players to survive to day 2. She went on to finish third for $24,367 when her K10 ran into the KQ of James Brown.

This event was the first of 11 tournaments featured in the 2021 CPPT bestbet Jacksonville series. The CPPT $2,500 buy-in main event will run from June 25-28. There are two starting flights offered, kicking off at noon on Friday, June 25 and Saturday, June 26. Players will start with 30,000 in chips, with 40-minute blind levels to start.
Like every tournament on the schedule for this series, the main event will feature unlimited re-entries during the registration period. Registration for the tournament will remain open until the start of level 10. The final table will also be live-streamed with cards-up coverage of the action.
Outside of the main event, other highlights during the 2021 CPPT bestbet Jacksonville series include the $360 buy-in pot-limit Omaha event, the $1,200 six-max no-limit hold’em event, the $360 H.O.R.S.E. event, and the $360 buy-in Ladies no-limit hold’em event.
