Success of GUKPT Prompts 2008 Re-Run

Grosvenor Casinos and Blue Square have announced the return of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) in 2008. The Tour mirrors the format of 2007, with nine £1,000 legs and a £3,000 grand final. The £1,000 main event of each leg is four days long, with two starting days, and will take place within a week-long festival with preliminary events.

In addition, several new events are to be added to the Tour, including a link event in July. The link event is a tournament that takes place simultaneously in all Grosvenor casino card rooms. The Grosvenor Grand Prix (the largest pot-limit hold'em tournament in Europe) will also be included as a part of the Tour. Blue Square Poker will continue as the tour sponsor, with significant added prize money and regular online satellites for all events. The dates and venues for the tour are:

• Leg 2 - Feb. 14-17 - Walsall
• Leg 3 - March 6-9 - TBC
• Leg 4 - April 24-27 - Manchester
• Leg 5 - May 15-18 - Newcastle
• Leg 6 - Aug. 7-10 - Luton
• Leg 7 - Sept. 4-7 - Bolton
• Leg 8 - Oct. 16-19 - Thanet
• Grand Prix - October - TBC Walsall
• Leg 9 - Nov. 13-16 - Blackpool
• Grand final - Nov. 27-30 - London Victoria
