Asian Poker Tour Gets Extended Run in Macau

APT Festival to Expand to 12 Days in Macau This August

Last year's APT Macau main event winner yevgeniy TimoshenkoThe Asian Poker Tour today announced it has extended its run in Macau this year to 12 days. The event will be held at the Galaxy StarWorld Hotel and Casino from Aug. 12 to 23, 2009.

The $4,300 main event at the festival has been extended from Aug. 19 to 23 and will feature a televised final table. The festival will also see a plethora of side events which the organisers say will not have been seen in Asia before.

Last year the main event in Macau was won by Yevgeniy Timoshenko who took down $500,000.

Asian Poker Tour boss Chris Parker, said of the ambitious extension of the event, “The Asian Poker Tour Macau Festival will feature a side event schedule never seen in Asia before, including several new formats that will stir the curiosity of poker enthusiasts at all levels. We believe Asia’s first festival of poker will establish Macau as an essential stop on the international poker circuit.”
