Peter Murphy has completed his Multiplier Challenge at BoylePoker.com, with two weeks to spare. Murphy turned $100 into $10,000 in nine weeks, finishing $172.21 cent above target. He then qualified for Boylepoker’s $250,000 guaranteed tournament where he collected another $2,000 to top it all off.

After finishing fourth out of 1,500 players in the $10 rebuy at the site, Murphy was still $800 short of his target. He was in the $7,000 guaranteed deepstack at the time, but needed to finish in the top four again to make it to $10,000. He didn’t get there, so after a short break, he took to the cash tables, where he at first threw away two buy-ins.

Grinding his way back, he finally made it when the last hand he played saw him all in with J9 on a flop of A-J-X with two spades, after a check-raise from his opponent who was sitting on A-J. A spade came on the river, and with it, Murphy's goal.Murphy's Multiplier Challenge

The Boylepoker.com pro said, “At the start of the week with $1,900 balance, I really had very little hope of getting it done within the time frame but five long days later I finally managed to get there. Not a bad week’s work either, $8,000 profit!”

A few weeks ago, a similarly inspired Adrian McCarthy attempted the same feat, and 10 days after depositing $100, he had $135,000 in his account. McCarthy took down six consecutive $20 sit ‘n’ go tournaments on the Jackpot tables at Boylepoker.com bringing his total to $35,000. He then won a seat in the $2.5 million guaranteed tournament where he came sixth for $100,000.

Head of poker at Boyle Sports, Paul Spillane said, “What a fantastic achievement, not just for Peter but Adrian too. It was a real rollercoaster ride but we were always confident he had the skill and discipline to complete the challenge and are thrilled that he did. Congratulations to both of them.”

Murphy wrote all about his challenge as it unravelled in his blog at the site. The ins and outs, ups and downs, can all be found at Boylepokerblog.com.
