WSOP Circuit -- New Orleans Main Event Begins Monday

Satellites Will Take Place This Weekend at Harrah’s New Orleans

The final Circuit championship in the 2008-09 World Series of Poker Circuit schedule will take place at Harrah’s New Orleans beginning on Monday, May 18. There will be a satellite day for the $5,000 no-limit hold’em Circuit championship event held on Sunday, May 17. The $550 mega-satellites will run at 2 p.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m. on Sunday. There will also be $550 mega-satellites May 14-16 at 6 p.m.

The winner of the Circuit championship will take home the top prize, a seat in the upcoming 2009 WSOP main event, and a Circuit championship ring. There will also be Card Player Player of the Year points up for grabs in this Circuit championship finale.

Here is a look at the schedule for the circuit championship event:

NOTE: Players will begin with 20,000 in chips and blinds begin at 25-50. Levels will be 60-minutes long, and they will increase to 75 minutes in length at the final table. Days 1 and 2 will begin at noon local time and the final table will begin at 2 p.m.

Monday, May 18: Day 1 (play eight levels).
Tuesday, May 19: Day 2 (play down to nine players)
Wednesday, May 20: Final table
