WSOP -- Brian Lemke Wins Event No. 15

Lemke Takes Home His First Gold Bracelet and $692,658

Brian Lemke came from behind in the final heads-up match against Fabian Quoss at the final table of event No. 15 ($5,000 no-limit hold’em) to win his first World Series of Poker gold bracelet in the early hours of June 9. Quoss took a nearly 4-1 chip lead into the final battle, but Lemke fought back and then charged to a $692,658 victory.

Other tough players at the final table included Thomas Keller, Mike Sowers, Liya Gerasimova, and Isaac Baron. David “The Dragon” Pham was the final-table bubble boy, just missing his seventh WSOP final table. The final day began with 17 players who returned at noon, and it took just over 14 hours to crown Lemke the comeback champion.

David Pham moved in for his last 155,000 in middle position, and Isaac Baron moved all in from the button to isolate.

Instead, Christian Iacobellis called all in from the small blind.

Pham showed KClub Suit QDiamond Suit, Iacobellis showed ASpade Suit K and Baron showed 10Club Suit 10Heart Suit.

The board came JSpade Suit 8Spade Suit 6Heart Suit 7Club Suit 5Spade Suit, and Baron’s tens took out two players, bringing his stack to 2,200,000.

Billy Kopp Eliminated in Eighth Place ($75,115)

Billy Kopp moved all in for his last 75,000, and both Fabian Quoss and Thomas Keller made the call. The flop came 7Spade Suit 5Spade Suit 4Club Suit, and Quoss bet 75,000, allowing Keller to fold.

Quoss showed JSpade Suit JClub Suit, and Kopp was behind with QClub Suit 9Spade Suit. The turn and river came KClub Suit 6Heart Suit, and Kopp was eliminated.

Isaac Baron

Isaac Baron Eliminated in Seventh Place ($88,784)

Isaac Baron moved all in for his final 210,000 under the gun, and three players called him down. All three live players checked down a board of QSpade Suit JSpade Suit 6Heart Suit 3Spade Suit 5Club Suit before Fabian Quoss turned over QHeart Suit 10Spade Suit. Everyone else at the table mucked, including Baron, who was eliminated in seventh place.

Danny Illingworth Eliminated in Sixth Place ($109,871)

Danny Illingworth moved all in for 685,000 preflop in early position, and Thomas Keller made the call on the button. Their cards:
