Final 40 Seats Available for International Poker Open

Play Europe’s Largest Live Poker Tournament as Final 40 seats are Released For Direct Buy-in

Padraig Parkinson plays this year's International Poker OpenBoylepoker.com is offering the final 40 seats to the International Poker Open as direct online buy-ins for day 1A of the event from Thursday Oct.16 at 7 p.m.. They have also announced the prize pool will hit $325,000, up from $205,000 last year.

The International Poker Open 2009 is Europe’s largest poker tournament and features a capacity for over 1,300 players.

The tournament will take place in Regency Hotel, Dublin from Oct. 16 to 18. Among those already registered for the event are Padraig Parkinson, Andy Black, and Neil Channing.

Paul Spillane, head of poker at Boylesports said of the move, “We’ve decided to save 40 seats for direct online buy-in for players who have been trying to qualify but have been unsuccessful and they will be available on a first come, first served basis on the site on the evening of Thursday October 15. We want to accommodate as many players as possible and this will be the final treat for our valiant online qualification contenders who missed out.”

No cash entries will be accepted on the day.

The IPO last year was the largest poker tournament ever held outside of the U.S. It was won by Irishman Ruairi Coy who pocketed $37,530.
