David "Devilfish" UlliottThe second leg of the European Masters of Poker season two kicked off in Casino Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands on Jan. 28. The event reached its max of 360 and with still so many survivors late yesterday it was decided play would continue for two more hours or until the final table. The result of this is – 15 players are now preparing to return to the felt at 5 p.m. local time today.

A group of players with high hopes were Team Devilfish. This included:

Dave “Devilfish” Ulliott — UK
Daniel “allin-tony” Boije — Finland
Benedetto “DMTRX” Passantino — UK
Toni “halibaba” Saarinen — Finland
David “Vindolanda” Dyson – UK
Eduard “edNorel” Norel – Romania

Four of the team did not make it to their second day however. With Eduard Norel eliminated late-session, the Team Devilfish hopes rested with the two Daves. Team Captain David Ulliott did especially well towards the end of the first night and came into the second day as one of the chip leaders with more than 100,000 in chips. This was largely due to a monster pot where he flopped quad jacks and his opponent called him down with ace high. “Nice read,” commented Devilfish as he raked in his chips.

Dyson lasted until late enough on day 2 but was short stacked and hit the rail before the money. Ulliott, the DevilfishPoker.com ambassador himself, represented his crew by showing them just how it is done. He didn’t make it to the final day but he did get to the money. With 36 players getting paid, Ulliott reached the second money bracket for 31st after a day filled with highs and lows. He takes home €2,304 after Reijo Anttilalle took him out with A-5 versus the K-9 of Devilfish. A king and a nine came on the flop but Anttilalle made a flush on the river and that was the end of Team Devilfish.

Here are the final table payouts that have yet to be decided:

First €66,240
