Dogs Playing Poker iPhone app releasedCandywriter software developers have released a quirky twist on the traditional iPhone Texas hold’em poker application.

Dogs Playing Poker allows users to select a breed of dog before playing a five-round Texas hold’em tournament in various locations such as a junkyard, dog pound, and Chinese restaurant kitchen.

The game features 18 types of hound to choose from as well as a fox and a walrus.

The game features a built-in tutorial for novices and built in “tells” for more experienced players as well as the ability to pet and poker the mutts and new dog breeds which can be unlocked as the player progresses through the game.

The game is integrated to Twitter and costs $1.99 from the iPhone app store.
