Vanessa Rousso Introduces Poker Instruction App

Vanessa Rousso has become a leading poker professional in poker instruction during the last few years at her Big Slick Boot Camp and she is branching out once again in the field with the introduction of an app for the iPhone. The new poker game is Poker 1 on 1 with Vanessa Rousso and it is available now at Apple’s app store.

The game focuses on heads-up play and puts players into an interactive learning environment that incorporates learn-by-doing simulations with a series of educational games and challenges. The game teaches players how to adjust their strategies to combat different styles of poker play that they will encounter in the real world. A wide selection of “just for fun” games against the “Virtual Vanessa” computer player are also included.

The software for the game is based on the Heads Up: Hold’em poker engine, which won the Best App Ever Awards second place for the Best Casino Game of 2009. Rousso has worked with the developers at Headlight Software to create this poker game and learning tool for the iPhone. The app also features one of the most challenging computer opponents available on any video-game platform.

The game is an interesting new addition to the Team PokerStars pros poker tournament instruction offerings. “My biggest passion outside of playing poker is in teaching poker strategy. I love watching that light bulb go off in my student’s minds when they discover something new,” said Rousso. “It is very exciting when their confidence level improves as a result of implementing what they have learned.”
