Dutch court rules poker a game of skillA Dutch court has ruled that poker is a game of skill, not chance, in a three-year-old case according to DutchNews.nl.

The ruling will delight poker players in the Netherlands which previously regarded poker as a gambling game which could only be played in state-run Holland Casinos.

The court, in The Hague, ruled that the organizer of a poker tournament in 2006 was not guilty of organizing an illegal game, agreeing with the defence which, “argued poker has become a different game, depending on tactics, experience and psychology,” according to the report.

Last year a Swedish court made a similar ruling but Switzerland recently ruled poker was a game of chance.
