Howard Lederer wins first heat of Poker Million IXHoward Lederer has won heat one of the FullTiltPoker.com Poker Million IX beating recent World Series of Poker bracelet winner Richard “Chufty” Ashby heads up.

Ashby entered heads up with a three-to-one chip lead but Lederer battled back to take a two-to-one chip lead before losing it again, clawing his way back to chip leader and finally doing Ashby in when his pocket jacks improved to trips against Ashby’s K-3 on the 200th hand of the game.

“Sometimes you just have to stick around and be patient to progress in a tournament,” said Lederer.
