WSOP Circuit -- New Season Kicks Off in Council Bluffs on Thursday

First WSOP Circuit Stop of New Season Will Feature 33 Events and $1,600 Championship Event

Horseshoe Council BluffsThe World Series of Poker Circuit will begin the 2010-11 season at the Horseshoe Casino in Council Bluffs, Iowa on Thursday, August 19. The tournament stop will feature a total of 33 events, which all lead up to the $1,500 no-limit hold’em championship event that will have a WSOP Circuit gold ring up for grabs. The tournament stop will conclude on August 31 when a winner is crowned in the championship event.

Games spread during the tournament series will include no-limit hold’em, Omaha eight-or-better, H.O.R.S.E., six-handed no-limit hold’em, and pot-limit Omaha. There will be a seniors no-limit hold’em event on Aug. 22 and a ladies no-limit hold’em event on Aug. 28.

There will be a total of nine events with an official WSOP Circuit ring up for grabs. Players can earn points in these events that go toward the national player point system that will help players qualify for the WSOP Circuit National Championship. Those events are denoted below. The winner of the $1,600 championship event will receive an automatic entry in the $1 million WSOP Circuit National Championship that will take place in May 2011 in Las Vegas.

There will be a $70 super satellite for the championship event on August 28 at 10 a.m. There will also be $235 mega satellites at 4 p.m. on 7 p.m. on August 28.
