Australian cricket legend Shane Warne is having a great week in the poker business having won $40,000 in the Victorian Championships event in Melbourne and announcing a potential poker tie-up with compatriot and business billionaire James Packer.
Warne earned his highest ever finish in a poker tournament with a third place score in the $10,200 buy-in high rollers event at the festival.
He then went on to reveal to News.com.au that he and business pal James Packer were looking into opening Shane Warne branded poker rooms at Packer’s Crown Casinos in Australia.
However, the normally outgoing Warne was hesitant when pressed about the proposed business deal, telling the media site that, "We’ve got two or three that we are looking at the moment, there’s a business that I have with James Packer that we’ll be launching next year. I’m not sure James would want me talking about that yet.”
