Young German Wins £220,000 For Topping 193 Strong Field in London

Fabian QuossFabian Quoss, a World Series of Poker event runner-up in 2009, has won the English Poker Open at the Palm Beach Casino, London.

Quoss battled through the 193-strong field in the £3,500 buy-in event to get heads up with Sebastian Crul. The pair got their money in pre-flop on the final hand with Quoss’ A-Q holding against Crul’s A-5 suited when an ace fell on the flop and the rest of the board proved benign for the German.

The prizepool was £675,500 and 18 players got paid with Liv Boeree finishing 12th and Phil Laak 18th.
