John Monnette Wins Event No. 27 at PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker

Shawn Buchanan Leads Entering Day 2 of Event No. 28

High-stakes poker pro and mixed-game genius John “jmonnett” Monnette took down event no. 27 at the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) on Tuesday. Monnette, who also has two PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) titles in both seven-card stud and deuce-to-seven lowball, earned $19,250 and the bracelet. Team PokerStars Pro Greg “FossilMan” Raymer finished in third place.

Event no. 28 is currently paused and will resume on Wednesday afternoon with 72 players remaining. Shawn “buck21” Buchanan, who also holds a WCOOP title, leads the way for the $243,610 first-place prize.
