Jason Mercier stole headlines on Monday at the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) when he took down event no. 42, a two-day no-limit hold’em tournament, for his first bracelet and a first-place prize of $435,862.
Mercier defeated osten heads-up after a three-way deal was struck. Fellow Team PokerStars pro Chad Brown also made the final table, but was eliminated in ninth place. Other notables at the final table included Justin “APerfectGent” Schwartz, Jason “TeamWispy” Helder, Dominik “bastet2004” Stopka and Dani “supernova9” Stern.
